Accessibility Statement

This accessibility statement applies to the website of the Staatsbibliothek zu Berlin - Preußischer Kulturbesitz, published at https://isil.staatsbibliothek-berlin.de/en/home.

As a public body within the meaning of Directive (EU) 2016/2102, we strive to make our websites and mobile applications accessible in accordance with the provisions of the German Federal Act on Equal Opportunities for Persons with Disabilities (BGG) and the Ordinance on Accessible Information Technology (BITV 2.0) implementing Directive (EU) 2016/2102.

Compliance Status

The accessibility requirements are derived from §§ 3 paragraphs 1 to 4 and 4 of BITV 2.0, which was issued based on § 12d BGG.

The evaluation of compliance with these requirements is based on a self-assessment conducted on January 30, 2025, following a BITV-WCAG test report.

Based on this evaluation, the website is only partially compliant with the above-mentioned requirements due to the following incompatibilities:

Explanations in German Sign Language and Easy Language are not yet available. Therefore, the website does not currently meet the requirements of §4 of BITV 2.0.

The following content is not fully accessible for the following reasons:

  • Some content is not displayed using HTML structural elements for lists and therefore does not meet the requirement of 9.1.3.1b of WCAG 2.1.
  • The content of the page "Kennzeichen der DFG-geförderten Fachinformationsdienste für die Wissenschaft (FID)" does not maintain a meaningful and usable order without CSS and therefore does not meet the requirement of 9.1.3.2 of WCAG 2.1.
  • The input fields in forms do not use autocomplete values and therefore do not meet the requirement of 9.1.3.5 of WCAG 2.1.
  • Forms cannot be used exclusively with the keyboard and therefore do not meet the requirement of 9.2.1.1 of WCAG 2.1.
  • Forms cannot be navigated in a logical and comprehensible manner using the keyboard and therefore do not meet the requirement of 9.2.4.3 of WCAG 2.1.
  • Forms cannot be used without unexpected context changes and therefore do not meet the requirement of 9.3.2.2 of WCAG 2.1.
  • Status messages are not labeled with appropriate roles and attributes and therefore do not meet the requirement of 9.4.1.3 of WCAG 2.1.
  • The website does not fully consider user-defined browser settings and therefore does not meet the requirement of 11.7 of WCAG 2.1.
